Prime UV-IR Records Robust Sales with Capital Equipment Buyers at ExpoPrint, Latin America
Erich Midlik, Executive Vice President, Global Sales, for Prime UV-IR notes that the Brazilian economy has recovered strongly in 2010. Exhibiting at Expoprint, Latin America in Sao Paulo, Brazil from June 23 to June 29, 2010, Prime UV-IR captured sales for its full line of UV and IR drying equipment. "Purchasers were out in force and interested in Prime UV curing equipment for newspaper and packaging presses, and Prime IR Action dryers for ink jet printing and digital imaging."
The IBGE (Association for the Graphic Industry, Brazil) has remarked that Brazilian printing companies are eager to invest in the latest technology in capital equipment. Competition in the graphic arts industry is intense, and acquiring new equipment and technologies has become essential for small, medium and large printing facilities. Mr. Midlik agrees, "Brazil and other countries in Latin America are on a trend to outpace North America in their acceptance of UV technology because of its high print quality, ease of installation and cost savings in capital equipment and in maintenance. Printers want to leap frog the old heat set technology and invest in UV curing because of the savings, including the elimination of emissions into the environment. Prime UV's "state of the art" technology allows the printer to gain more customers and broaden their product line."
Green technology is a driving force behind the acceptance of UV printing in countries around the world. "Here in the United States, the EPA recommends the UV printing and coating process as BACT (Best Available Control Technology). In the countries of Latin America there is an intense drive for cleaner cities and industrial zones. The graphic industry of almost 21,000 printing facilities employs 275,000 people in Brazil. PRIME UV equipment is viewed as the best solution for a cleaner environment."
