PCI Introduces Improved Laser Point II™ Ablatable Film

Precision Coatings, Inc., Walled Lake, MI, has recently announced an improved version of its patented Laser Point II™ laser ablatable film. This film allows flexographic platemakers to produce negatives for analog plates on the same laser that is used to ablate digital plates. Due to the buildup of a static charge from handling and processing, the previous version of the product had a tendency to attract airborne contaminants from the general environment. By adding antistatic properties to the backside of the film, PCI has been able to significantly reduce the static buildup. As a result of this change, platemakers will be able to produce higher quality plates.
